I just realized I could easily turn this into a 365 photo blog, lol. We're going to have a wonderful keepsake at the end of the year if I keep this up! Okay, here's some pictures from yesterday, Wednesday after our lessons. What you're not seeing is Danny talking to himself as he's looking at the Things that Go, and the excitement Camille had after reading What Makes a Shadow by Clyde R. Bulla which inspired her to get out her Fun with Hand Shadows by Frank Jacobs book.

Oh, that was fun! My kids still remember when our power was out due to Hurricane Isabel and we made shadows on the wall! LOVE the pictures!

How cool!
Can you tell us if you let your children watch TV and how much?
Thanks

TV, I have a love/hate relationship with it. We love TLC, Discovery Channel, PBS for the kids. Yesterday Camille watched a program on PBS about meteorology which was filmed at the Weather Channel in Atlanta. This was great to reinforce our earth science studies and she got to have an inactive field trip, she relates to other kids on the shows she watches. We also love "How It's Made", "America's Funniest Pets & People". They watch movies too.
I don't allow Disney Channel (unless it's a good show) because of the teenage influence and culture influence is heavy on there. Nickelodeon is pretty much banned but Camille watches it at her dad's. I point out that SpongeBob really isn't a good friend and that Drake and Josh may be funny but they aren't good examples. My dh and Camille's dad haven't really helped with the fight against tv so I've made a truce. We use DVDs in our educational efforts often.
I don't watch much tv with the exception of a few shows (The Closer on TNT) but we're also on the summer schedule. Once the fall season hits dh and I enjoy House, I watch Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters, Grey's Anatomy and shows on TLC like Flip that House.
Danny watches a movie almost everyday but this is to keep my sanity. He also watches the Leap Pad Letter Factory now. They watch Curious George in the mornings on PBS before schools starts if they have finished everything I require.
I'm in theory against tv but when it comes down to real life, unless there's a tremendous amount of support from other adults in the house - (not happening here!) it's better to just go with the flow and restrict and direct it as much as possible.
It's one of those things I wish I could change but it's better to accept what I can take.

Yes, you will have a great keepsake! Speaking of which, is there a way to have a hard copy of a blog? I'm new to blogging and continually feel like I'd like to have a copy of it for years down the road...
Thanks!
I haven't stopped here in a while, but wanted to say "hi". I will have to look into those fun shadow books :) The girls and I did a really neat shadow picture together this summer. You can see it here:
