A Beautiful Sight

Shh, he's sleeping...

Which also explains my grainy photo, I didn't want to wake the bookworm.

And this is why we had no school today, a friend (aka an angel) sent the kids her children's Little People that they don't play with anymore. Who wants to do school when a BIG box is delivered filled with toys?
They have played almost non-stop all day, I'm not kidding. Even with the box!

It was a beautiful day!

What a beautiful picture - I would get it printed and frame that one.

I hope you got rain today as we did.

As for the play - those memories you can cherish!

Jessica,

What a fun day! These are some of the real blessings of homeschooling - to be able to enjoy our children and let them be kids as much and as long as possible. :)

My boys *love* their Little People sets. Their current favorite is using the castle to "play Narnia".

BTW, my temptation would have been to go ahead and try to do school anyway just to stay "on schedule". Your post today was a great reminder to me that I need to allow my kids to be kids as much as I am able.

Thanks so much!

I just have to ask since my little one is insisting that the book your Danny fell asleep to is Thomas the Thank Engine.
He is so precious!!! Moments like that are simply to sweet, and too short.

Nothing like a sleeping child to make the love in your heart well up and spill over, eh? And the kids playing together -- just delightful! A good day indeed!

Sigh, my days of little people with my kids are over but the little people are waiting quietly in a box in the storage room for someone, someday to bring home a grand-baby to play with them.

There is nothing like a photo of a sleeping child....so peaceful.

Thanks Jessica,
Barb-Harmony Art Mom
PS My oldest brother's son is having his first child today....the first great grandchild in our family....a boy.

those are the best sorts of packages! Kids need to use their imaginations as part of learning... I would say they had plenty of school for the day :-)

God bless,
Sallie

Oops...I started to write my comment and was pleasantly distracted by the Christopher Robin quote at the top of the box.

That is such a precious picture of Danny. I agree with the previous commentor, one to be framed.

I am looking forward to getting out the Little People when we start school. They have provided hours of entertaining.

Thank you for your sweet comments,
Blessings and happy Friday,
Linda

I need a big box of little people in my school too. This morning my 17yo ds was playing with the wedgits with my 6yo when I was leaving for work. Don't you love it when they play together? It is one of the best things about homeschooling.
