This is the President I Voted For

I know President George Bush has been ridiculed, belittled and put under tremendous pressure but this article reminded me again of why I have unfailingly supported him since voting for him in 2000 and 2004. I just wish this was the man that the media would show the world at large. http://www.eielson.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123111092

Thank you Lisa for sharing this with me. :)

Thanks for posting that, Jessica. I may put that on my blog as well.

I think that since he personally set in motion that boy's death....the LEAST he could do was take a couple minutes to meet with the family.

My Crazy Life,
I'm sure you understand that this is a positive post, right?

President George Bush was not the one who personally set in motion the son's death. C'mon now...

One person does not run our government, that would be a dictatorship. The President and Congress collectively help decide the course of action to take, it is NEVER 1 (wo)man's decision but they get all the glory and blame, don't they?

Oops, that's not right- even when recognition is deserved it's brushed under the rug.

Thanks for posting this. I linked it in my sidebar too. I am so sick of the disrespect and venom shown about him, and I did not actually vote for him.

Thank you for sharing this article. We live just down the road in North Pole, AK and I wish we had gotten the chance to see him while he was here.

My husband is leaving for Iraq next week and we are still Bush supporters.

I have to add that I did get to hear Sarah Palin speak last week at the Brigade's deployment ceremony :)

Jessica--

Thank you for posting this. It is sad that he's been so maligned in so many ways in the media, such disrespect. This is the man I voted for twice, too!

I am currently at Eielson AFB and was able to see the president when he visited at this time. I can not tell you how neat it was to hear him speak. The article you posted was from our base paper. I could not be more proud of our president. He has such a kind heart and had made all his decisions based on what he thought was best for his country. No one is perfect. It is really hard to remember that when we are talking about our president though. People expect such a level of perfection and scrutinize every little thing. I wish the media would pay less attention to every verbal blurb he has made and more to the level of care for the people and love of his country.

It's not always popular to do what's right. I have always appreciated that he is not more concerned about his popularity than what he needs to do for the country.
The last time I checked, this country wasn't drafting anyone. Those in the military do us a service by putting their own lives at risk - it is not any one president, leader, or commander that brings them harm but a risk of the job. This article was heart warming and doesn't surprise me about Bush's taking the time out for this family.
Thanks....

I'm printing that out for my son to read. Thanks for posting and I still believe he is a good president and a good person.

Yes, I realized that the post was "positive;" however, I stand by what I said.
There are MASSIVE amounts of information out "there" concerning HIS decisions (with or without the consent of Congress). And just so you don't think I am picking on poor 'ole Dub-Yah, let me say that I am appaled at the decisions that Congress made - - and continues to make concerning "the war," The Patriot Act, the half-truths about World events, etc., etc.
And lest you say I am un-Patriotic, I served my country (in the military) for almost a decade before becoming disabled (on the job) - - and my husband is an Army retiree. We are card carrying Patriots.
Oh, and don't get me wrong, I do think what he did was nice.....but, I really think that considering his actions, he hasn't - - and isn't - - doing enough for his soldiers, their families and the citizens of this country.
Of course, just like the other comments.....It is just my opinion....and opinions are like 'you-know-what's'....and unless it's your own, it probably stinks.
