This sorry excuse of a Preschool poster which I thought was a brilliant idea will be replace with something like this.
Which will save us wall space.
Anyways I was trying to duplicate the Preschool Poster at http://letteroftheweek.com, which Danny is starting the Preparatory Curriculum tomorrow. I'm reading to him already, trying to familiarize him with his ABC's and there's no reason NOT to do this. It will help him actually and he'll have his own time with me outside of stolen minutes during the four hours of Camille's work.
This is how it happened.
"Danny, do you want to learn about cows?" I asked.
"COWS?! Go to farm?" he asked.
"No, but we can read stories about cows." I said.
"[Singing] Old MacDonald had a farm...." he sang as he ran to his room to pull out his Little People Farm.
He played with the farm for 30 minutes!
That showed me he is ready for a little direction and I'm ready too.
We're going to do the 26 weeks of Preparatory Curriculum from Brightly Beaming Resources.
Each week as I prepared Camille's Daily Folder, I'll also prepare for Danny's week. It is free and since I have a printer, I can print out pages from online sources in addition to using the Preschool workbooks (Kumon, Early Start) and books we already have. I will also use books from our local library to keep things simple if we don't have books here at home about the subject of the week. We will still start Horizons Preschool next year and I am currently collecting classic preschool books from Bookmooch.com and other cheap resources.

Looks Great! Tiany, over at homeschool blogger used the same LOTW online curriculum. She set up a poster that was similar, but a bit smaller. Check it out here http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/Tiany/115667/ Maybe it will give you some ideas on how to condense it to have more wall space, though yours looks great to me!

Oh no! You didn't! You started. Without me. ;)
No pressure here. Really. None. I'll let you get a couple months ahead and then I'll learn from you.
Tee hee. I'm suhc a copy catter that way.
I have a whole set of LOTW Prep Curriculum learning posters available at my blog. I use them with my DS, and am giving them away to anyone who wants them. http://photojenic.wordpress.com/
Just type LOTW in the search box, and it will bring up all the blog posts with links to the files.
I also have an example of our "learning center" that we use, if you're interested. Just look for the post that says "learning center."
I've just started your Weekly Reporter meme, and having a blast! I wish I had started something like that a long time ago. We are also TOG users, although DD is a Senior this year. *sob* But I'll get to start from the beginning with DS. :o)
Oooh, LOTW! I'd forgotten all about that! I think your poster looks great -- what did you think was wrong with it? Hope you have a moovelous week!

Oh! The purple cow poem would be a great fit to this!! :)
The Purple Cow
"I NEVER SAW A PURPLE COW,
I NEVER HOPE TO SEE ONE;
BUT I CAN TELL YOU, ANYHOW,
I'D RATHER SEE THAN BE ONE!"
Gelett Burgess
Christian memorized this when she was 4 or 5. I cant remember.... and then she illustrated a purple cow to go with it!
How exciting to begin with Danny! I bet he will love it!
I miss hearing from ya!
Hope you had a great saturday withthe fam. :)

Excellent. I'm taking notes because the baby will be three in three shakes and is already a constant presence in the schoolroom.
Have a great first week!
Thanks so much for sharing this! I've been watching your pre-K threads on TWTM boards because my youngest- Nate- will be 4 in April. He asks to do "Big Boy School" everyday (with 2 older siblings). He loves the Kumon workbooks. I showed him the video of Danny and he just started going on with the "moo-moo" and "I want to do school, Mommy!". I've been feeling the need to start doing something more with him and this looks great! Thanks again!
