Notes from our week:
Camille finished Explode the Code book 5 and we'll move on to book 6 on Monday. Danny is making wonderful progress in being cooperative and understanding boundaries & limits. We are LOVING James Herriot's Treasury for Children and although we're behind, we have two more stories to go. Everyone is healthy now except for Danny's drippy nose. We have postponed nature studies this week and I cannot feel bad about that, it's life. I think tomorrow we're going to an animal preserve anyways so we'll do it there.
And now the pictures
We are loving The Space Book. We hung the Solar System in our learning room this week and Camille is working
on memorizing the planets in order. The planets are placed in order in a swoop to show how close they are to the sun.
Approximately.
My dh has an outpatient procedure being done tomorrow on his back, please keep him in your prayers. This week was not as I wanted it to be, looking at these pictures and going over the lessons for the week- I see areas that I could have really expanded more or we could have done more but when things around you are tough- you just have to do what you can. Being sick takes time, energy and when you're well it's a catch-up game. We're not behind in our lessons but I was SO behind in my other responsibilities. My congestion prevented me from being able to read aloud as much as I would have liked, but we have next week.
Well, I'm impressed. I can't imagine getting that much done when feeling ill. I love the nature dominos. They look like so much fun! I just started my DS on ETC. He seems to really be enjoying it (wiggly boy likes his school work = miracle!!). I really like how you do your DD's copybook also. My DD would love that!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy your blog! Seeing Camille's work on the planets reminded me of a new mnemonic that could help her memorize the planets in order from the sun.

Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Ceres, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Pluto, Eris
Hope it helps!

I always love seeing pictures of children working happily at a table. That is such a great portrait of homeschooling!
